Office Chairs 2008
By Michael Leung

Researching Hong Kong and Wales, we were intrigued at how the physicality of sitting could be so different. In Hong Kong, people focus on work, having little free time for family and leisure activities. Wales, however, has a more balanced lifestyle – therefore the posture of people is more relaxed. A small detail, such as posture, can appraise a society, highlighting the characteristics of life within a place. A universal object such as an office chair could be used to reflect the contrasting mentalities of the two places.
